The Clear Light of Being

3-days workshop with Nishant Matthews

Introduction to The Psychology of Love - Counselling Skills Training

Everyone wants to be happy, yet so few really are. In the Psychology of Love, we come to realize that lasting happiness is based on our own experience of Being. While we are busy looking for happiness, Being is happy. Already.

The reason we are not in touch with the happiness of Being is that we are not comfortable with our own self. Between us and Being is our Self. Our experience of self is full of conflict, stress, suspicion, and separation. That leads us to look for happiness outside the self, or to try to change the self into something that fits our ideas of what it should be.

The Psychology of Love series is dedicated to understanding and making friends with the self. As we learn to be with our selves heartfully, then our selves will be heartful with us. The inner struggles turn into inner dances, the separation turns into embrace. As we become friendly inside our self, we can easily come to know our Being.

With the eyes and heart of Being, we come to live in a different world. We see the clear light. In that clear light, we see the beauty of others; we find that love is our natural response. We no longer live inside the tensions of the self, but find the self opening doors to meaningful connections with the people we love, with our work, with the whole of our lives.
