The Psychology of Love
Counselling Skills Training with Nishant Matthews
2010-2011, start: September 2010
Inside the familiar world of Personality, there is another world, the world of Being. Here we
see with clear eyes, feel with a tender, strong heart, and think with an open, trusting mind. We recognize the fundamental goodness in our
selves, and we can see that in other people as well. Love is as natural as the sun coming up in the morning. We don’t live in perpetual need of
love, because we freely give love. In fact, we know that deep inside us, we are love.
The Psychology of Love Training recognizes this love as the basic truth in all of us. It also
recognizes that this basic truth has been hidden under the thoughts, feelings, fears, desires, and busyness of our Personality systems. Even
while it is mostly hidden, we also know that our deepest longing is to live the truth of the love that we have inside us.
-
How do we come to know the reality of this love?
-
How do we feel it? Hear it? Live the truth of it?
-
How do we bridge the reality of inner love with our outer personality? How can the reality of love inside us be a strong support for living our lives courageously, creatively, heartfully, and with a good sense of humor?
-
How do we live our love in such a way that it supports other people to also know the love inside themselves?

These courses will be a valuable training for your own personal living, as well as a time of learning
counseling skills for working with other people. You will learn to work from 3 different positions, to have 3 different points of view available
for your understanding of yourself and other people.
1) Human (Friend)
The ability to relate as a friend. Offering an open-hearted, non-judgmental point of view. As a
friend, we realize we are basically all the same, all of us are in the same boat together and that through the path of friendliness we can learn
how to open the doors into our own Being and the Being of others.
2) Inspiration Place
This is the ability to look at the situation with fresh, clear eyes. To see things as if we are
seeing them for the first time, to discover life and people without carrying so much memory and mind. As we learn the art of discovering, we get
the kind of inspiration that comes "out of the Blue." In learning to trust Inspiration, we come to know the presence of Grace and Impersonal
Love, that we are part of something bigger than just our separate, individual selves, and that this bigger something can also be our best
Friend.
3) Professional
A professional understanding of the psyche as a manifestation of Love and Being. A clear map of how our
psychological systems are organized and how these systems work.
The Training Program Overview

underlying spiritual dimensions. Please contact the organizers and/or Nishant if you have any questions about your own personal
